POP! (People Over Pavement)
POP!, located along Tramo St., serves as a crucial connection between a public day care center, a multi-purpose hall, and a community health care center, revitalizing the spaces in between. The project represents the convergence of various pathways and needs, creating a vibrant, central spot where community members can gather, learn, and receive care.
The initiative seeks to transform approximately 900 sqm of open street space into a pedestrian-friendly, lively thoroughfare. This redesign focuses on promoting education and wellness for children and adults in an area previously lacking public amenities. With the day care center undergoing major renovations and the multi-purpose hall being repurposed for youth and adult activities, the space in front of the community health care center currently remains inaccessible due to ongoing construction. This provides a unique opportunity to reshape POP! into an active space that encourages learning and health-promoting activities.
The pathway begins at the day care center, where improvements are made to child play areas. Moving forward, the lane leads to the multi-purpose hall, now a center for diverse activities catering to all age groups. The hall’s open layout fosters better visibility and interaction between indoor and outdoor areas. The route concludes at the health care center, where a large portion of the intersection will be designed to support activities such as dining, walking, seating, and relaxation. This design promotes positive energy, community engagement, and well-being, positioning POP! as a pivotal space for social interaction, recreation, and leisure.
